I painted a new set of folk inspired pieces the other day. Here are three of the set.

I started a new project of music posters, mostly classical, but there'll be some others thrown in there on occassion.
Rhapsody in Blue
I wanted it to look like the layers of New York with the subway underneath, the 1920s cabs and the musicians playing in a concert hall. The idea for the blue piano was based on the title but also this Paul Whiteman techni-color film where the orchestra rises out of the piano. (Check out 2:56)
Have a great week!

Just put up a new tee for scoring on Threadless. This one might be my favorite yet. Please head over and vote.
In other news, I decided to make the arrows tee available in my society6 shop with some additions to the design. I just ordered mine yesterday and am looking forward to wearing it this spring.
Screen-printing has always been on my craft-to-do wishlist, but we've never been in the place that has the space for that kind of equipment. I'm not giving up though, I've been looking into get some things printed and to have in my shop for the Fall. What's on your craft wishlist?

Two crazy foxes in a hot air balloon,
They like to go shopping on a Sunday afternoon,
So up, up, up in the balloon they fly,
Quickly up to the bright blue sky.
They hop over traffic, fields and trees,
And land at the supermarket, cool as you please.
Jasper Fox reads the shopping list,
Making sure there is nothing they missed
While Jennifer, his wife, eyes the view.
She wants a smooth landing, with nothign askew.
What a crazy way to get the chores done,
But Jasper and Jennifer, always have fun!

If you grew up a music nerd like me, then you had tons of music/education cassettes. I had a few favorites, Peter and the Wolf being one of them. I designed this poster with that cassette in mind.
If you're not that familiar with the story, there's a new non-spoken animated version on netflix that is thoroughly enjoyable and I believe you can see most of it on youtube as well.
