Wow, this week has flown by so quickly. Before I share the other constellation paintings I did, I should catch up on some other paintings I worked on in January.
The Three Bears
Full of porridge and reminiscing over their last picnic, these bears spend the evening reading, playing music and knitting.

Last week, I started looking up constellations and became fascinated with animal constellations. I wasn't aware there were all kinds of animals including Felis the cat and Noctua the owl which are now obsolete.
I also made a pattern that I'm thinking of getting printed on silk or voile for a scarf.
The pattern includes Noctua (owl) Ursa Major (Bear) Aquila (Eagle) Apus (Crane) Lepus (Hare) Felis (Cat) Vulpecula (Fox) Cygnus (Swan) and Canis major (dog).
I've only done a little star-gazing before and can pick out the plough and a few others, but I'm excited to look into the skies more this summer. Do you have a favorite constellation?

I recently discovered the art of Brian Wildsmith. I always find myself pouring over the images, each one better than the last and findng them all breathtakingly beautiful.

Thanks for your comments on last week's Dial K for Kitty post. It's always exciting to get feedback about something you really enjoy doing. I've been addicted to trying out new things and making patterns since I got this fabric design book.
This set features the cats love cameras print with a few new cameras thrown in.
I think the second set of starbust diamonds is one of my favorites. I had a vintage set of glassware at some point that had a similar pattern, I was reminded of it when I thought about the camera flash.
